Impaired or poor color vision is the inability to distinguish between different colors. The condition can occur due to an inherited disorder, certain medications, chemicals, disease, and aging. If you're having trouble differentiating colors or your color vision is changing, schedule an appointment with an eye doctor. Although there is no cure for inherited color impairments, medication may restore color vision if it's caused by illness or an eye disease. Children should have a complete eye checkup, which includes color vision testing, before they start school.
