Replace contact lenses as frequently as possible to avoid contamination due to build-up lens deposits. Daily disposable soft contact lenses should be discarded after a single day of wear. Other types of soft contact lenses are disposed off after two weeks or earlier. Frequent replacement lenses are changed monthly or quarterly, while traditional (reusable) soft contact lenses should not be worn longer than six months. On the other hand, rigid gas permeable contact lenses can last 1-2 years before being replaced because they offer more resistance to lens deposits.
