If the lumps appear as red, painful lumps under your eyelid or on your lashes, they are probably stys/styes. They look like a pimple, are not contagious and usually go away on their own in a few days. Styes occur when bacteria infect the oil glands in your eyelid or eyelashes. You can use a warm washcloth on your eye to ease the pain. However, never pop a sty like a pimple because you'll spread the infection. If the lump appear as a swollen bump on your eyelid but is painless, this is a chalazion. It usually forms a clogged oil gland. If the lumps persist, see your doctor.
