Can tinted contact lenses alter color perception?

Tinted contact lenses do not alter one's color perception. This is because the brain is not confused when different colored lenses are used. Rigid gas permeable contact lenses usually come with tints for visibility, should they pop out or slide over the white part of the eye. However, these tints do not change the way one perceives color. Tinted lenses may help to reduce the amount of light entering the eye but not alter perception.
