Benedikt syndrome is characterized by the presence of an CN III  oculomotor nerve palsy  and  contralateral  hemiparesis (weakness) and cerebellar  ataxia  including tremor. Neuroanatomical structures affected include CNIII nucleus, Red nucleus, corticospinal tracts, brachium conjunctivum, and cerebellum.
